Unity Recorder V1.0 User ManualUse the Unity Recorder to capture and save in-game data during Play Mode. For example, use the Unity Recorder to capture and save gameplay as an MP4 file. A recorder specifies details for creating a recording, including a data source, resolution, and output format. The Unity Recorder package includes the following recorders:. The Unity Recorder also supports Timeline. Use Recorder tracks and clips to trigger recording sessions from Timeline instances. It does not record a GameObject in other scenes. The Unity Recorder does not capture frames at a consistent rate from systems that use a real-time clock, like the Video Player. Data captured from these systems might appear speeded up or slowed down. Unity Recorder includes new, updated recorders. These recorders take advantage of Unity Editor features and are more stable than previous versions. In the Project window, expand the Unity Technologies folder and select the Recorder folder. Use the recorder list in the Recorder window to add, rename, edit, duplicate, and delete recorders. You can also save and delete your recorder list as an asset to reuse in your project and in other projects. Tip: You can save a recorder as a Preset. You can also specify a preset for recorder settings as a default when creating new recorders. Re-opening the Recorder window restores the values of the last recording session. In the recorder list, right-click the recorder and choose Delete or Duplicate. When recording in Play Mode, use the Record Mode property to specify when to start and stop the recording. You can manually start and stop recording, specify a single frame, a range of frames, or a range of time. You can set up more than one recorder to record the same Scene. Note: During recording, you cannot modify the properties in the Recorder window.

We are indeed aware their are quality issues and we are currently working at a better way of setting and exposing the codec parameters, so anyone can reach the level of quality one needs. Selzier likes this. The only problem now is that the WebM render does not add audio to the final. WebM file. The audio track is added if I use mp4, but is not added if I use WebM. There are no errors or warning, I even turned on Verbose mode. I made a video to show how the MP4 file will export the audio, but the WebM file will not. The fact there is no sound playing while you are recording is a good sign, meaning the sound is redirected somewhere. Would you mind sharing the final WebM just in case? That solved it! All I had to do was upload to dropbox and it played the audio for me. By copying a URL from soundcloud and clicking 1 button, it will download the mp3, jpg from soundcloud, render with Unity Recorder, and upload to Youtube automatically.

FFmpegOut is a Unity plugin that allows the Unity editor and applications to record video using FFmpeg as a video encoder. First of all, note that Unity Recorder would be a better choice in most cases for the same purpose. It's strongly recommended to check and try it out before installing FFmpegOut. The Camera Capture component CameraCapture is used to capture frames rendered by an attached camera. The dimensions of recorded video are specified with the Width and Height properties. The size of the screen or the game view will be overridden by these values. The Frame Rate property controls the sampling frequency of the capture component. Note that it's independent from the application frame rate. To avoid frame dropping, consider using the frame rate controller component see below. The Frame Rate Controller component is a small utility to control the application frame rate. It tries controlling frame rate via Application. Note that it only works in a best-effort fashion. Although it's expected to provide a better result, it's not guaranteed to work exactly as specified. When the Offline Mode property is enabled, it explicitly controls the application frame rate via Time. In this mode, application time is decoupled from wall-clock time so it's guaranteed that no frame dropping happens. This is useful when using the capture component to output pre-render footage. Note that the FFmpegOutBinaries package is not placed under this license. When distributing an application with the package, it must be taken into account that multiple licenses are involved.
