Skarlet | MK11 Reveal Build Frame DataSkarlet is a character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game series, serving as one of Shao Kahn's deadliest enforcers and adopted daughter alongside Kitana and Mileena. Before that, she was a subject of fan speculation that began with rumors of a glitch in Mortal Kombat IIsupported by a fake image. Skarlet returns in Mortal Kombat 11 as a playable character. Originally, Skarlet was a character rumored to have been a secret in Mortal Kombat IIthough this was speculated to be a coding glitch from Kitanamuch like Ermacwho had supposedly been a color glitch from Scorpion. Skarlet is a devoted servant to Shao Kahn, her every action with the goal of appeasing her father. He taught her how to utilise Blood Magik and serves him willingly. Kotal Kahn refers to her as a former Champion of Outworld. Skarlet has unnaturally red hair with a black streak tied back in a low ponytail, gray eyes, and her clothing is primarily red and black with minimal white accents. She wears a tight ninja half-face mask from her nose to the edge of her collar bone. She wears red high heeled over the knee boots. She also has four kunai strapped onto her right leg, which are featured in her moveset. She keeps her mask and wears her loin cloth over the suit, while also now wielding twin katanas. In Mortal Kombat 11her default outfit consists of a much more conservative black and red outfit with pouches, including one with vials of blood and a hood with goggles. Her alternate costume used in story mode sports a mage-like appearance and removes the hood, showing off an inverse of her previous hairstyle, now being short and black in color with red highlights. Following the release of the first story trailer however, her hairstyle has reverted to its original length and color, though let loose. Another variation of this costume gives her shorter gloves as well as her original hairstyle with its red color. Skarlet is a very ferocious opponent in battle. Being composed solely of blood, Skarlet can utilize several blood-related techniques such as throwing orb-shaped projectiles composed of blood and can even morph herself into a red-liquid state which she can mold into structures. Unlike Noob Saibotshe utilizes this state for both offensive and evasive maneuvers. Despite having had her legs shattered by Mileena in the Mortal Kombat X comicshe returns in MK11 with restored limbs, suggesting regenerative abilities. Her abilities in particular have also been significantly improved thanks to Blood Magic, now being able to draw blood directly from her opponents out of their orifices as well as forming weapons from said blood as shown by her Fatal Blow and one of her Fatalities as well as forming blood constructs out of thin air and one of her win animations summoning a magic glyph underneath her that causes blood to rise up. While still a vicious opponent, Skarlet's fighting style has changed considerably, trading in her acrobatic techniques for blood constructs. Her assassin tendencies still remain by wielding a single dagger or hiding within a bloodied corpse and lashing out for a surprise attack as a shapeless mass of blood. Supposedly, a red palette swap of Kitanasame as with Ermac as a red palette swap of Scorpion, little was known about her aside from that. On September 10 th, Ed Boon updated his twitter with an image of the leg of an unknown, red-clad, female character. Speculation has abounded that this might be a redesign of Sareena or Kira. However, after Shao Kahn's loss, no additional information as to the identity of this character was given for months. Since then, she has been seen in the background of the Kahn's Arena during gameplay videos for Mortal Kombat Skarlet was revealed — although her name was not. Through hacking of the game, Skarlet was discovered, as well as having a Babality model, but the model was glitched and did not move. That was just an urban legend like Animalities and Ermac — a rumor that we eventually wanted to make true. Sign In Don't have an account? Start a Wiki. Current Timeline. Contents [ show ].

She was created by Shao Kahn with the use of the blood of the Outworld emperor's fallen enemies and sorcery. Skarlet is used only as a last resort. Her goal is to discover what Quan Chi is planning. She becomes a legitimate character and a major antagonist in Mortal Kombat She was made by Shao Khan with the blood of warriors mixed with magic as a guard. Due to being able to become powerful quickly by draining the blood of her foes, she is usually chained up, only used when it's absolutely needed. Skarlet makes a appearance in the Mortal Kombat X tie-in comics. Reiko recruited her sometime around the Outworld civil war in secret. Havik was impressed in her courage, as she requested to learn Magik from the chaos cleric. He leads her to the cell of Cassie Cage, who he explains that she needs to fight her to gain her power. With enhanced power due to his blood, Skarlet slashes Jacqui with on of the Kamidogu, and as so, enslaves her to the Blood Code. Skarlet then tells Cassie her parents are arriving, and making sure to give them a "Proper bloody welcome", slashing her with the Kamidogu as well. Skarlet then joins Reiko along with some Red Dragon Clan members to fight Khan, Johnny, and Sonya, explaining her corruption of the two girls to the heroes after Reiko reveals his plans. And thus, the battle begins, with Kotal and D'Vorah easily beating the Red Dragon Troops, as Skarlet soon stabs the latter when she is distracted. However, D'Vorah's toxic blood stuns Skarlet, who attempts to help Reiko as he fights Kotal Khan as she sees Mileena arriving with her Tarkata army, much to her alarm. Skarlet stands in Mileena's path to Kotal, both sarcastically calling the battle awkward before teasing that Reiko went with Skarlet after she was disappointed with Mileena. Mileena tries to convinceher that Reiko might betray her, she laughs it off as a jealous remark, before revealing her power with the Blood Code before attacking her and killing several of her soldiers. Mileena does manage to land a blow with her sais, but Skarlet survives the blow and rushes at her, both calling herself a fellow child of Shao Khan and how she will share the throne with Reiko. However, as she does this, Ermac traps her in place, allowing Mileena to cut her legs off. Skarlet cries that the attack isn't lethal, but Mileena ignores as she knocks the ninja out. Skarlet is one of the onlookers as Shao Kahn, Raiden and Kotal confront each other. Kotal remarks on how she was once an orphan before becoming an assasin. Skarlet snaps back that it was better to thrive in Shao Kahn's courts then starve to death in the streets. Though Skarlet is amused to see the Kahn's high and mighty daughter seemingly brought in by lowly soldiers, Skarlet sees through the deception almost instantly, identifying the soldiers as Liu Kang and Kung Lao respectively. Skarlet orders the Tarkata warriors to attack them while the Blood Mage herself moves in for Kitana, but is repelled by the princess's superior skills, forcing her to flee the tent, but is unable to escape Kitana. Skarlet snarls that the princess has betrayed her father, Kitana retorts that she was only Shao Kahn's daughter by conquest, the Kahn having stolen her from Edenia and the true father she never knew.
