BlockheadsLooking for Moda Blockheads 1? It is now a published book available here. Looking for Moda Blockheads 2? Free block patterns are still available, for a limited time, here. Just start collecting the free quilt block patterns. They will be presented here, on the Moda blogand on each designer's blog. There is also a Moda Blockheads Facebook Group you can request to join. This is not a requirement to participate. There will be weeks with just one block, and there will be weeks with multiple blocks. Suggestions are for a large quilt to start with at least 30 Fat Quarters and yards of background fabric. Smaller blocks or a smaller quilt, you will need less. But each designer will probably do something different, even making it up as they go. More details as the program runs. We will posting the free block pattern download here for easy finding, along with any updates we learn, as the weeks go by. If you experience trouble downloading the block pattern, please try using a different browser than the one causing you problems or even a different computer. Some devices are just crankier to use than others. Participation is free! Enjoy it if you wish but you are not required to participate. And if you have issues or complaints, please take them up with Moda Fabrics or contact the block designer. Thank you! Don't miss a week! Subscribe to our newsletter to be notified of each week's new block postings! We will upload the block pattern on here on Fridays. We will also post links for any updates, as they become available. We will post new weekly block reminders in our Saturday newsletter. Think of this page as a Resource Page, as our only goal during this program, is to assist in the ease of finding and organizing the Moda Blockheads III information. Thank you. You can read more HERE. Block 1 using layered piecing technique is available HERE. Moda suggested layouts are available below: Option 1 Option 2 Option 3 Option 4. Coming Soon - Block
Moda Blockheads III (2020)
Hello and Happy Wednesday! Then, in more Moda designers were added to the mix, and the program continued. I absolutely loved playing along last year. My Moda Block Heads 2 quilt is one of my favorites. Block Heads pattern release dates are typically Wednesdays, and our scheduled start date is January 15th, I just wanted to let you know now so you can start thinking about fabric choices. While sadly not all of the original Moda Block Heads are able to participate this time around, we do have some new designers in the mix. I can hardly wait to see their designs. Here is our complete group of designers:. For now, just start thinking about fabric choices that you might want to use. I will be offering a scrappy print pack here and a scrappy low-volume pack for backgrounds here. Note: photos are not of the actual bundles, and while supplies last, get a Summer Sweet mini charm with your order! Are you already thinking of fabric possibilities for your quilt? I had fun with the last sew along. Can you share the size of the blocks…will they be varied? Also, how long will it last? Thank you so much for the information. I too would be new at this…so, just how do i join? You can sign up for my newsletter which will give you an email each time I post…or just stop by each Wednesday beginning January 15th for the block details. I am not sure where to sign up. I missed the first two, but found the first one in book form. Will the second one be published? I am so looking forward to this. I learned so much from MBH2 from the designers and fellow Blockheads. Thank you thank you thank you to all the designers. I love the friendship of quilters and the support we can be to one another. However…I like to see that really fostered and not see any of the rude and hurtful things I saw last year. Wednesdays will be exciting once again. I hope it is a sampler or medallion. I learned so much from BH1 and 2. Thank you! I am beyond excited for round 3! I did both 1 and 2 and loved every minute. I need to think about my fabric choices now. I am sure I have some stash FQ bundles I can use and them buy fabric for background. I am so happy about this news. I made two of the last Blockhead quilt. A halloween and an Asian out of my totes.

We are ALL going to have a blast stitching these blocks! If you are new… get ready for a year of fun…read the posts…educate yourself…there are lots of very talented designers in this years stitch along and they are all here to give their hints and advice for their style or manner in which they complete these blocks! Each week you will have to visit the designer who designed the block to get the pattern. Block Heads 2…was pretty much a planned sampler quilt…I added some sashing to it…It was quilted by Maggie Honeyman with an edge to edge orange peel design! If you missed out on this book…all six Moda designers have their finished quilts in this book. Or if you would rather purchase it from Amazon…here is the link… Moda Blockheads Amazon. I am using two fabric lines…Urban Farmhouse Gatherings and the just arrived Indigo Gatherings…creams, all shades of grey and blues along with a Bella Solid!!!!! I did not think I could post these until Friday…so next time I will make them prettier…Happy Stitching! I just noticed the cream parts are not showing the correct piecing…but this is the idea…the grey squares are our pieced blocks…and If you following my color placements in my blocks each week…it will all work out! I will get this fixed and show you it again with the cream triangles fixed…sorry! Please do not be afraid of the little blocks…I will hold your hand through it and you can ask questions in the comment section here …or directly to me on Facebook Lisa Hoefler Bongean and in the Moda Blockheads group. My set of itty bitty creative grid rulers for working with small measurements are really helpful! No more guessing! Here is the schedule for the first round of blocks mark your calendars! View all posts by lisabongean. Raquel…the fabrics have come in…but not the precuts yet!! Second question lolcan I buy the itty bitty rulers or the create tin at Road? Trying to save on shipping so I can buy more fabric! I may shoot my budget just at your booth! I have all of them now and I use them every day. Thank you for designing these great rulers with Creative Grids. Love your fabrics! Made Blockheads 1 all from Miniature Gatherings! Also my favorite ruler is the Itty Bitty!

I dug deep into the blue bin today. My daughters are 29 and 31 and this blue was used to make pajamas for one of them when they were little. Not sure why I did it this way, I prefer the simpler design, but for some reason I decided to do it with mixed fabrics. Perhaps, I will try again with just a few fabrics, but likely not today. It is a lovely designed block, just not certain that mine gives the block credit. Re-do on Block I like the yellow contrast much better. Jump to. Sections of this page. Accessibility help.
