Hello, I have recently upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows YouTube, 8 Tracks and other applications work-just not the sound recorder app and an online language program I am trying to use to record my voice. I've scoured the internet for how many hours-looking up forums, videos, articles, and the Microsoft website, and nothing has helped. Also made sure for both that all the exclusive modes were checked for both. Tried to download it from the manufacturer website Realtek did not go through. Tried to uninstall like many have said and reboot, still the same static sound. I cannot even roll back to previous realtek sound card. I've done everything, and if I missed something here, I've probably done it but I just can't remember to type it here. I also looked at Microsoft's website to fixing sound issues with no avail. I have a Dell Inspiron 13 seriesrunning windows 10 64bits. I have had the same problem with recording my voice or using a mic on platforms such as google hangouts, skype, adobe connect, etc. This renders my computer inoperable and actually inaccessible since I too use a voice recognition software to type due to a chronic disease. My computer is under warranty. Maybe yours wasn't anymore and you didn't have access to the type of technical support I did with no positive result to day. Would you please provide us with an update? Did you find a fix?

Microphone distorted, and making noises Windows 10

The noise is not constant as well, as i talk it gets louder and then nearly stops when no sounds are picked up by the mic. I dont know what to do next and it is quiet frustrating since the mic works fine on windows systems. Could that be the problem? The good thing about it, is that can be removed quickly and all goes back as it was, and there is no danger in wrongly modify the default one. And if you remove the file, and reboot, does all go back to normal? What else do you have in that file? Here is a nice discussion about using the sample rate and test them the safe way. Any modifications in your user home directory to configs can be removed and all will be back to default. I installed pavu and tweaked the boost and volume the cracking is bearable now but its still there. Well, pulseaudio is the sound server, not a driver. Some people remove it and use only ALSA and related packagesbut you really have to know the way trough it. So i found out why my mic has such horrible audio and i feel pretty dumb, it was the sample rate i found a solution on the Arch wiki. This topic was automatically closed days after the last reply. I have been using obs and obs studio for quite some time and never had my blue snowball microphone pop and crackle in my obs studio recordings. I am using Voice Meter Banana to integrate some applications into my obs recordings. From what I can tell Voice Meter Banana is not affecting the microphone I recorded the output of voice meter banana and re-listened to it, no popping. I went as far recording on my old laptop with OBS not studio and getting clear audio out of the recording. So I can deduce that the cable from my microphone to my computer works fine. I also transferred a recording from my main machine with the audio pops and played it on my laptop and still heard popping so I assume my audio drivers are fine. Whenever I use the my Voice Meter Aux Output mic, spotify, and discord voice channel inputs for my mic 1 in obs I get pops. This is the same output that I recorded through voice meter banana and found no popping in. I have my microphone on push to talk as well. My OBS Studio which the problem is occurring on is up to date: Is there any way to resolve this issue? Am I missing anything? Log File: Code:. Audio popping log.

It only takes a minute to sign up. I installed Ubuntu When I first installed Discord, from the instructions on their website, everything was fine. The Snap package had problems starting and refused to go past the update sequence, as if it had no internet connection. However, the first time I join a voice chat after a reboot, I get loud crackling anytime someone speaks. It fixes itself if I change the output of my headphones from Line Out to Headphones or vice versa headphones setting sounds better to me. I initially thought it was the Line Out setting being the issue, so I changed it using this as a guide. That did not fix it and no matter which one I set as default, the crackling returns equally as bad in Discord until I change it. After that, either port sounds just fine. I'm trying to figure out how I can have it sound good without having to flip the setting in PulseAudio, but I'm clueless. All other audio seems fine. Even in games like CSGO there isn't this problem with voice chat, and I'm able to play other games, watch video, and listen to spotify just fine. It only seems to be affecting discord. If it matters, the exact settings are "Line Out plugged in " and "Headphones unplugged " although despite the forum in the link above, I was able to set the Headphones as default anyway and it recognizes that port. I'm using the PulseAudio Volume Control pavucontrol app from Ubuntu Software to change these settings, and the terminal to set the default port. My only connected audio devices are my headphones for output, plugged into the motherboard port; my mixer and headphones are listed in input headphone mic mutedboth also plugged into the motherboard. Mixer is a USB interface. My webcam was listed at one point, but I'm not sure where it has gone and if that can affect things somehow. Here's an easy way to do what Jared Chu suggested :.
