Visual boy advance stuck in fast forward?By Alejandro Rodriguez. Last revised January 8, This tutorial is to help you with mGBA on Windows. A new emulator, mGBA is focused on being fast enough to run on lower end hardware than other emulators support. It doesn't want to sacrifice accuracy or portability. Installation is simple: just extract mGBA from its zip file. Not sure how to extract zip files? Here's a video tutorial showing you how: how to unzip files on Windows. I recommend DocumentsDownloadsor create a folder on your desktop. If you place mGBA somewhere else on your main C drive, then you may be restricting it to read-only access. Doing so prevents mGBA from saving anything. To open mGBA, double-click on. Note that you can place your games wherever you want. Typically, people place them in the same folder as mGBA. Save states is a feature that saves the exact spot you are in any game. You can use this feature manually by going into the File menu or by quick keyboard shortcuts. There's one detail about save states with mGBA that can be confusing. There are two types of them. You have quick saves and regular save states. With them, you can continue at any significant point in the game. You can also learn about how to transfer saves between other emulators. Fast forward is the feature that speeds up the game. To access it, press the Tab key. Hold it down and let go until you want the fast forwarding to end. The process of entering codes can be confusing. Although confusing, a valuable bonus is that mGBA lets you enter multiple codes at once. Most other emulators only let you enter one line at a time. For these directions I'm going to walk you through entering the 9-line GameShark code that enables the complete Pokedex in Pokemon Emerald:. Finding cheats: GameGenie. The next best source is Google. It will save the screen shot as a PNG image. In my links pageI have some good links to sites where you can download ROMs. If you want to try to find more sites than what's in my collection of links, just Google around. Note that the best place to find ROM hacks is Romhacking. People have reported having a great deal of trouble getting cheats to work specifically with the Pokemon games.

When TAB is held down and fast-forward speed is to anything but unbounded, simply frame-skips at normal speed while spamming the console with buffer underflow messages. I didn't, but having sync to video or sync to audio enabled or disabled appears to have no effect on the fast-forward speed. Additionally, the console is flooded with "Got a buffer underflow! On Sun, Sep 13, at PM, endrift notifications github. That message means that alsa isn't getting enough samples. Something is screwing with the speed in mGBA, but it doesn't reproduce locally for me. Fast-forward isn't working for me, either. I don't get the error spam but fast forwarding only makes the audio high-pitched and choppy. It doesn't work syncing to audio or video. The faster the desired speed, the more high-pitched and choppy the audio becomes but no speedup actually takes place. I'm actually able to reproduce this on Linux now, I think the original issue was caused by c9ca. But I'm not sure how to fix it :. You could just temporarily disable double buffering while the user is fast forwarding. Or is it more complex than that? I believe this is fixed in 34d0dff. Well you're touching in the right code but not quite fixed yet. It still has the high-pitched, choppy audio playing at 60fps, but now will have individual bursts of fast forward. It's better over here with a freshly compiled build; fast-forwarding is fixed, however at first, games play slowly with choppy audio, which is only fixed by fast-forwarding at least once. After that games will run at normal and accelerated speeds just fine. Have you tweaked the driver settings much? Works fine for me, for what it's worth. Have you guys tried a fresh config? Create a portable. Does not seem to be a problem on Windows builds for me; however on Linux occasionally there will be a one second freeze in emulation which does not occur while fast-forwarding.

First I would like to state that I did do my best in searching the forums for similar topics. I'm not the most savvy when it comes to navigating forums, but the few posts I found that did relate to this topic either didn't have applicable answers or were left unanswered. With that out of the way, let me get to the actual problem. I have been playing games on Vizzed for the past few weeks with no problem using Google chrome. Today, out of the blue, every game I try to play while logged in to my vizzed account appears to be stuck in the fast mode that is by default activated by holding the space bar. I tried changing the keybind just to make sure it wasn't stuck, that didn't help. I tried playing the game on different web browsers and that didn't fix the problem either. The only thing I could do to resolve the problem was playing the games using Mednafen, or by playing logged out of my vizzed account both methods causing me to lose my save data and progress. I wasn't really able to find anything else, my guess is that it has something to do with a control setting tied to my account, I just can't figure out what it is. Re-installing the RGR didn't fix the issue either, so any help would be appreciated.

Half the day will pass before it stops and resets were it left off. Now this isn't the worst thing that could happen, but when it happens a few times during my game play it gets really annoying. I'm not exactly sure what I should do. I have tried Repairing my game a few times, but it hasn't made any changes. I'm thinking of deleting my current game and starting over to see if that makes a difference. I have also tried to reset my sim and that didn't help. Has anybody else had this problem before? If so, how did you fix it? You can try clearing your cache files and see if that helps. It could be bug with your current game but you don't need to delete it. If none of that helps you can try Resetting the game to factory settings. A clear conscience is usually a sign of a bad memory. Playalot Global Moderator Watcher Posts: Sounds like you are experiencing the 'Time Freezing Bug'. Have a look on the EA bug thread and see if it's the same bug. If it is you can add a 'me too'. I'm not sure if there is a user-based fix for this bug yet but doing what grimsoul suggested might just clear up your game file and let you play normally again until EA actually fixes this through a patch. They're there to be followed.
