Pilot Jet — Penasaran dengan yang namanya karburator, terutama sobat yang merubah-rubah angka yang pas untuk pilot ataupun main jet? Kapan sih kita harus mengganti spuyer? Contohnya oversize yang membuat kapasitas naik, menaikkan kompresi, lepas filter udara, merubah perbandingan gear, perubahan cuaca, mengganti knaplot free flow,dan lain-lain. Usia pemakaian juga berpengaruh, semakin lama lubang spuyer semakin terkikis bensin, ibaratkan air menetes saja dapat melubangi batu. Oleh sebab itu, pengendara sebagai pemilik motor harus dapat mendeteksi spuyer dari tenaga, warna busi, ruang bakar dan yang paling penting insting dan feeling. Also from a scale how hard is it to open up the carbs and change the jets. There are one of each in each carb. But with that you can either leave the carbs in the intake boot and rotate the carb just enough to pull the bowl off. Or you can take the carbs right out and do it that way. But basically you pull the bowls off and the jets are accessed from there. If your bike start's up good and idles good you should have to change the pilot jet. Most people are changing there main jet, You shouldn't have to take the carb's off the bike to change it, just loosen up the clamp that hols it to the intake and tilt the carb to were the bottom of the carb is stickin out and there should be a bolt there just un screw it and there is you main jet. If it seems boggy from off idle until it comes on the pipe, you need to change your pilot jet. You should definetly read the stikies in jetting and learn how a carb works,alot of two stroke problems are related to a jetting problem, including longevity. My advice is to: 1. Every carburetor know to man will have a way to adjust the air fuel ratio at idle. This adjustment will trim the mixture so that you can have a smooth running engine. They work opposite of each other so it is important to know that before performing this procedure. What you are after when adjusting this screw, is too reach peak idle RPM and smoothness. This is the engine telling you it is happy, and it runs best at this mixture. The pilot jet is sized correctly if the air screw setting falls between turns out, with 1. A pilot air screw will be made of brass, gold in color, and will have a blunt tip compared to a pilot fuel screw. I use the smallest diameter screwdriver so I generate the least amount of torque.
