How to Fix Volume Control Icon Not Working in Windows 10

Arlington, Texas. I just got my Yoga 13, and it is an excellent device. However, I have encountered a minor annoyance. I am able to lower the system volume by lightly pressing on a area roughly 3. The volume decreases to 0 when this occurs and the volume icon on the screen does not disappear until I adjust the volume using the physical volume controls. During this time, my touchpad is inoperable. Louis, MO. I have a similar problem. My volume is stuck at 0, and if I hit the "volume up" button on the left of the computer it will go up, but it fights the down button the whole way, meaning, I can hold the up button and the volume will go up, but as soon as I let go, it's as if the down button is getting pressed. For me though, I cannot get it to go away, and the volume indicator on-screen will not go away either. My trackpad, like yours, is inoperable while this is happening. United States. Yes, I am definitely having this issue as well. Typing with my left palm resting on the area to the left of the touchpad results in displaying the volume indicator, raising the volume, and disabling the touchpad until the volume indicator disappears. It makes it very hard to simultaneously use the touchpad and the key for any sequence of key strokes and move manuevers. Did you resolve this someow? Same issue here. It worked well for the first 3 months or so. Now impossible to control the volume. I found a work-around to this problem. I determined that the problem occurs more often when I am wearing a watch on my left wrist and when I am typing with the computer very close to my body, my elbows bent. So if I remove the watch and have the luxury of being able to place the Lenovo further forward so that my arms are straight, rather then elbows bent, then the problem does NOT occur. You could almost even say this problem is actually an ergonomic feature, becuse the work-around is to use the laptop in a more ergonomically conforming manner, putting less weight on the laptop. That being said, when you are trying to work on an airplane or any tight working circumstance, you don't have the benefit of being able to stretch out your arms forward. Also, it's a bit of a pain to keep removing my watch, although I've determined this is not as necessary keeping my elbows straight. In summary, they key is to position the laptop in a manner that more of your arm weight is placed on the table rather than on the laptop itself. Picking it up from the other side for a few seconds releases everything back. I am sorry about my ad english. I am brazilian and i bought my lenovo yoga 2 13 about 20 days ago in Atlanta. My volume goes down by itself and keeps on zero. When i have this problem i have no mouse pad, no keyboard on the scream, no sound and i am not able to increase the volume. Atlanta, GA. View All. My Lenovo Sound Buttons Won't Work

I've been googling extensively and cannot seem to find the solution to the problem I encounter, I hope someone can give me advice here. Usually you can control the volume by pressing 'fn' and 'f1, f2, or f3' simultaneously. Most of the time this works. However, it frequently happenes that this function gets disabled and the combination doesn't work anymore. In other words: pressing the fn key together with either of the function keys mentioned above, won't make the volume control appear anymore, and you're thus not able to control it anymore. However, as soon as I change the volume by using the mouse on the speaker icon on the right bottom of your screen, the function will enable again. I'm assume that I unwillingly press some button to disable the fn-f-key volume control. I just can't figure out how I do it and how to enable it again without having to use the mouse on the speaker icon-volume control which is pretty annoying. Did someone help you today? However, I figured the porblem only occurs when I change the volume 'manually' on youtoube, but not on other players. Further suggestions very much appreciated! But i still before this done Uninstall the drivers restarting the PC and still nothing worked in the past. Volume control keys on keyboard does not work after Windows 10 version 1803 update

I googled and couldn't find anything, tried windows restore but for some strange reason there was an error and it failed, i tried to download the latest lenovo update tool but to no avail Papua New Guinea. The only difference is that a pop up used to come up showing the volume value SIMILAR to the bar that comes up wen the icon is clicked once. The bar would go up and down as the volume was changed. I tried to disable and re-enable the icon however to no avail. Sorry, I did not read your message properly. The microsoft support link below gives solutions to different volume control issues in Vista environment. Oh, ic Kef, thanks for the info! Is there a link from where i could get hold of the correct version of the Hotkey driver? This issue is one of the great examples of Lenovo moving backwards instead of improving user experience with every update. Unfortunately they appear not even to TEST their updates one-by-one on all models that will be supporting the update. Well it will be a long story to explain, but to make it short; "Expanding a few extra lines and routines to a code, does not necesarily mean that the rest will work ok since there have been no changes there". The problem with the HotKey utility for the Lenovo N series is that almost all verions beyond version 2. Now comes the real bad news; Unfortunately unlike others, Lenovo does not appear to offer an archive for older versions to updates. Such that anyone can streight away download the version which works the best for them! For those that are seeking to restore their volume indicator issue when using the keyboard HotKey's, I have placed the 2. Hope this will work for all of you, until the day Lenovo finally comes up with a proper solution such as propietary HotKey indicators displayed on the screen just like others such as Logitech, Toshiba and Apple have been offering. Thanks a lot Kef and Dutchie! You know it really is a shame that Lenovo doesnt test their drivers properly since, otherwise, I've had very few problems with my notebook. On top of that, the utility button system that lenovo uses is, in my opinion, very easy and simple to use and saves a lot of hassle.
