The volume keys ar F2 and F3 on my laptop. Intrestingly enough the volume turns off eventually if I keep pressing F2, but there is no decrese in volume before it turns off completely. Arlington, Texas. I just got my Yoga 13, and it is an excellent device. However, I have encountered a minor annoyance. I am able to lower the system volume by lightly pressing on a area roughly 3. The volume decreases to 0 when this occurs and the volume icon on the screen does not disappear until I adjust the volume using the physical volume controls. During this time, my touchpad is inoperable. Louis, MO. I have a similar problem. My volume is stuck at 0, and if I hit the "volume up" button on the left of the computer it will go up, but it fights the down button the whole way, meaning, I can hold the up button and the volume will go up, but as soon as I let go, it's as if the down button is getting pressed. For me though, I cannot get it to go away, and the volume indicator on-screen will not go away either. My trackpad, like yours, is inoperable while this is happening. United States. Yes, I am definitely having this issue as well. Typing with my left palm resting on the area to the left of the touchpad results in displaying the volume indicator, raising the volume, and disabling the touchpad until the volume indicator disappears. It makes it very hard to simultaneously use the touchpad and the key for any sequence of key strokes and move manuevers. Did you resolve this someow? Same issue here. It worked well for the first 3 months or so. Now impossible to control the volume. I found a work-around to this problem. I determined that the problem occurs more often when I am wearing a watch on my left wrist and when I am typing with the computer very close to my body, my elbows bent. So if I remove the watch and have the luxury of being able to place the Lenovo further forward so that my arms are straight, rather then elbows bent, then the problem does NOT occur. You could almost even say this problem is actually an ergonomic feature, becuse the work-around is to use the laptop in a more ergonomically conforming manner, putting less weight on the laptop. That being said, when you are trying to work on an airplane or any tight working circumstance, you don't have the benefit of being able to stretch out your arms forward. Also, it's a bit of a pain to keep removing my watch, although I've determined this is not as necessary keeping my elbows straight. In summary, they key is to position the laptop in a manner that more of your arm weight is placed on the table rather than on the laptop itself. Sometimes the sound system you use doesn't work properly anymore, and you can't figure out why. Many Lenovo computers and third-party peripherals have audio buttons built in to them, but what do you do when those just stop working correctly? Often the physical setup or some mismatched drivers cause these types of issues. By taking a few steps, many users can get their sound systems back up and running the way they want. Ensure that the speakers themselves are turned on. Check the power button and look for indicator lights. If there is a volume control on the speakers, make sure it is turned up at least a little bit. Check the audio connections. This is not necessary for a laptop using built-in speakers. Make sure that the audio cord is connected to the correct output jack. The correct jack usually has an image of headphones or the phrase "Line out" next to it. Refer to your user's manual for specifics. The audio cord in turn should connect to your speakers or to an audio receiver. Ensure that the computer sound is on. Check Windows' "Sounds" and any third-party media programs you are using. You find the "Sounds" section by selecting the Start button in the lower-left corner of your screenthen "Control Panel," then "Sounds. The utility is an icon resembling a speaker, and it displays "Volume" when you hover your mouse over it. Double-check the peripheral with the sound buttons, if applicable. If the volume buttons are on a wireless device or a keyboard; make sure your computer is connected and can receive other commands from it. Try typing or executing some kind of command on the device. If your computer does not respond, the device may need to be reconnected, or even replaced if it's faulty. Update your Lenovo drivers.
