There is no bang in device manager, I have replaced the cable to see if cable is the issue but cable is not the problem. I need your opinion on this. Is there an update that started an issue with USB C port or a dell update? Please advise. It may be that your USB controller doesn't have enough juice to power the device, even with two connectors. You can test this by connecting it through a powered USB hub. If your machine has multiple USB controllers, you may be able to get around this by plugging the connectors into ports from the separate controllers, maybe try one in front and one in back for example. Have you tried to run the "Detect Drivers" while everything is connected to the laptop? Check out the link below. Was this laptop purchased by itself or do you have another that was purchased in the same batch to test? I am wondering if it was configured with DisplayPort or Thunderbolt. If you have a batch of laptops that were ordered at the same time with the same config and only 1 of them has this issue, then it seems to point to a hardware issue and you should contact Dell. Windows 10 has a USB Selective Suspend Setting that is automatically set to enable meaning the computer decides when the port has power. Best of Luck! Thank you all I had dell replace the motherboard on this laptop and I installed DisplayLink Software for DisplayLink Graphics and this resolved my issue. In general, when the specs just say that the system supports Power Delivery, it means it can provide power to accessories according to the USB-PD standard, usually up to 7. If you go into the BIOS Setup and look at the Battery Information section, it will show the detected wattage of any power source that's been attached. It can hurt the laptop? I've never heard of a power bank with enough wattage to charge a laptop that doesn't support USB Power Delivery. But I don't think it would damage the laptop because the system won't start charging via USB-C until it completes a USB Power Delivery negotiation, so if the source doesn't support it, then the system should simply ignore it. Well I shall look for a shop where I can test it out before buying -- not sure how easy that will be. I have recently purchased a Inspiron 13 2in1 and have been attempting to get a 'straight answer' to if this can be charged through USB-C?
