How to Generate a PDF Package Summary of the Markups List in Revu 2018

The Markups List lives below the workspace, and is made up of columns and rows, with each row dedicated to one markup, and each column a unique classifier. There are over a dozen built in columns that can be turned on or off such as Subject, Date, Author, and Status. Users can also create custom columns that can utilize formulas specific to their workflows, assign responsibility for answering questions, or just to add a note. With the Markups List, users are able to generate streamlined PDF package summaries that make navigating lengthy PDF documents and drawings easier and faster. Navigate to the Markups List icon in the bottom left of the workspace and select it to open the Markups List. Now, navigate to the summary icon on the Markups List dashboard. Select PDF Summary. A dialogue box will open with options for generating a PDF package summary. By default the option to append and hyperlink the PDF package report will be selected, which is what we want this time, but there is an option for creating a PDF summary that is separate from the PDF document s or drawing s you are creating a summary for. From this dialogue box, you can customize the summary to your liking. The columns tab allows you to include or exclude columns in the Markups List. The Filter and Sort Tab allows you to filter and sort the column information for each markup, and gives you the option to exclude or include each individual cell in the Markups List. From this tab you can also choose how the report is sorted by. After the summary is generated it will open in your workspace and will be appended to the end of the PDF so if the PDF is one page, it will become the second page of the PDF. In the summary, each markup on the PDF will get its own summary of the information in the Markups List, and a thumbnail of the markup as it appears on the PDF. If you click on the thumbnail it will take you to the actual markup, allowing you to quickly navigate the markups on your PDF. If you would like to see more articles featuring the Markups List or have any suggestions or comments, please leave a comment in the comment section below. I am using Revu x64 CAD The most common request I hear from those that read my summaries is to have the markups numbered. Is there a way to add that to the summary list? Then, when you produce a markup summary, sort it by the custom column. Let me know if you have any other questions! Your email address will not be published. Submit Comment. First Name. Last Name. Creating Markup Summaries

Templates are PDFs with page settings, formatting, and other elements already in place that make it easier to create new documents of a particular type. Bluebeam Revu comes with several templates that are ready to use, or you can create your own. Templates can be created from any PDF file. New templates are easily created in Revu using existing PDFs. Go to File and select the list arrow to the right of New. A list of templates appears. Note : The file name is not necessarily the name that appears in the New list. Revu uses the document's Title found in the Document Properties instead. See Editing an Existing Template below for more information about changing the Title. Templates exist as special files in Revu and should be editing in Revu. When the Template opens, it will have an icon on its tab that lets you know that it's a Template and not another document. Select Save As Template. Navigate to and select the folder you would like to save this template in. It is generally a good idea to keep related templates in the same folder as Revu will only list templates saved in one folder at a time when creating a template-based PDF. Rename the file if desired and click Save. Imported templates are automatically saved in the active Template folder. If the one that is currently active is not the one you want to save this new template in you can tell by reviewing the list of templates available in the list; they are all in the currently selected Template folderselect Change Template Folderthen navigate to and select the desired folder. Select Import Template. An Import Template Files dialog box appears. Navigate to and select the desired PDF. Rename the file if desired and click Open. To edit an existing template: Go to File and select the list arrow to the right of New. Click the Edit button to the right of the desired template. This button only appears when the cursor is over a template. Only templates from the active Template folder are listed. If the desired template is not shown, select Change Template Folderthen navigate to and select the folder it's in. Add any fields or markups that you want to be not editable on PDFs using this template for example, logos, field labels and the like using the Markup tools. The Flatten Markups dialog box appears. Make sure All Markups is selected it should be by default and click Flatten. Add any fields you want to be editable on PDFs created using this template using the Markup tools. Do not flatten them. A template can also contain multiple pages. See Template Editing Notes below. The name that appears in the New list is the document's Title found in its Document Properties. To save this Template under the same file name and in the same folder as the original, click Save. A Save As dialog box appears. Navigate to and select a folder to save it in. Rename it if desired, then click Save.
