Whats the best quality/value NeoGeo AES multigame choice? It is based on Sega's Dreamcast system board thus it's common to see the "Sega" logo on its boot up screen. The Atomiswave uses interchangeable game cartridges and the cabinet's control panel can be easily switched out with different control sets, including dual joysticks, dual lightguns and a steering wheel. Notice that Naomi has twice the amount of main memory and graphics memory that Dreamcast has, so ports from Naomi to Dreamcast may involve more conversion time. Also note that the Naomi board has four times the sound memory of the Dreamcast, and the reason for this is because the Naomi board is'nt meant to spool redbook audio from the GD-ROM drive. The Naomi architecture is very flexible in that a cabinet can have anywhere from 1 to 16 boards. A multi board system would operate in parallel increasing the power of the system tremendously! Theoritically a 16 board Naomi system could do 16 x 3. Realistically it would most likely be around 20 to 30 mpps. Then of course there is also the issue of the CPU being capable of driving all of this hardware. Safari Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta! Manic Panic Ghosts! Justice Gakuen Puyo Puyo Da! Do u have an AES and next to no games since they cost more than their weight in diamonds. Joined: Apr 6, Messages: 6, Location: Tokyo. BonemanApr 26, Joined: Dec 20, Messages: 1, Location: Sydney. I've got a Darksoft cart. It's good but there are some bugs that Darksoft will fix with a firmware release. It's taking quite a while though I am sure it'll be great. That's what I get for being an early adopter. He's not doing another run until all the bugs are squashed. I waited for the the Darksoft cart because basically he's a good guy who has done heaps for game preservation and the community and the NeoSD and neo-geo. I also use his Atomiswave to Naomi stuff on a NetBoot setup. Not gonna lie, the CPS2 multi is probably the single best retro gaming thing I ever got. That's some great info thanks. If i go a multi sd type ill be waiting for the AES version, darksofts one has been in the works for literally over a year at this point, and who knows how much longer. Ill wait for it but in the meantime im wondering if for a Chinese mvs and an aes adapter is worth it. That's half the cost of a boxed aes, so its not too bad. Itll make my console a lot more playable, and im not sure but doubt the and converter will hold its value ie if a dirt cheap aes cart comes out of china. Last edited: Apr 27, Yeah I'm not too sure about the AES. I use a supergun setup so have an MVS. I think the in 1 cards are all pretty crap which is why there was so much hype for a proper multi. Regardless who did what first one thing that has become apparent to me is that the arcade projects forum run by darksoft is a much more helpful forum than the neogeo forums.
Thank for continue the project. Hope help you when you want test atomiswave games. This is not bad news, the project is alive and games will be released. Unfortunately without arcademodbios. It is a shame that arcademodbios. He sells everything he works on, cash is his motivation. Whereas you are releasing the games for free the two don't really go hand in hand. Anyway I really hope you continue the project I think you will get a lot more interest and donations in future when more people find out about it. I think a better game such as Metal Gear 6 or Dolphin Blue will get help too as Demolish Fist isn't exactly the best game in the world. Thank you for all your hard work. It is really awesome that you do all that you do. Hey, was also wondering if you were planning to convert the gun games and if so would they be made to work with a normal sega infrared gun setup like confidential mission for instance? If so that would be amazing. I don't know. Gun games can also be converted, but I have no idea how controls work On the other hand, I think that Naomi needs led sensors around the monitor can anyone confirm? I know they are needed for Lindbergh for sure. It could work though with a Gun2Naomi hack. Yes it uses the LED's. All are the same, plug and play even. Same IO boards and all. I have a Sportshooting USA and it just uses normal light guns. No sensors. What about that ? I prefer to test myself at home.
